Sustainable School WASH,
supported by SFA Group, France
In collaboration with the SFA Group France, the Sulabh Sanitation Club is working to enhance sanitation facilities in government schools across Sikkim, with a particular focus on creating Girl-Friendly Toilets. This initiative aims to foster better learning environments by providing menstrual absorbents, accessible hygiene resources, and a supportive platform where students can learn and share knowledge about menstruation management with dignity, free from fear or discomfort.
To address the challenges of limited access to quality sanitation facilities in Sikkim’s schools, the Sustainable School WASH program has been implemented in partnership with the Education Department, Government of Sikkim. Currently active in three government schools, the project focuses on building capacity among both students and staff to ensure the long-term sustainability of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facilities.
